Synopsis

The opening title sequence shows a scientist working on a Zero Point Energy machine in his garden workshop. The date is 20th July 1969. If his machine works, it would produce unlimited free electricity, bringing an end to burning fossil fuels, as well as ending poverty on Earth.

Just as Neil Armstrong is seen on TV stepping onto the moon, the scientist’s machine works for the first time and he celebrates his invention, believing it will make him a billionaire. However, just at that moment armed government troops burst into his workshop, kidnapping the scientist, removing his machine and burning the building to the ground.  A boy watches the workshop burn from a top floor window.

Back to the present day, a sailing catamaran motors into a small harbour in Southern Argentina. On board are teenager Natalie Hutchings and her father Bill, a university physics professor, taking a year off work after Natalie was kicked out of school for blowing up the physics lab, hacking the principle’s computer and going on a six month climate strike.

It’s Natalie’s 16th birthday but she is feeling gloomy. She is still grieving the loss of her Mum four years earlier and sends her text messages to say she misses her, even though the messages are never read.

In the outskirts of Las Vegas, we see General William Stevens in his multi-million dollar house, heading to a secret vault in his basement, speaking with his deputy Shona Dickinson. We learn they are searching for something. The General says he will get more money from the Congress to fund his projects.

Back in Argentina, the sailing boat sets sail. On a night passage, Natalie and Bill look at a shooting star. Obsessed with UFOs, Natalie is disillusioned with scientists and believes Earth’s only hope is for aliens to arrive with new technology, but Bill doesn’t believe in aliens and say’s it’s up to humans to solve human-made problems.

In the Oval Office at the White House, we see President Neil Barker asking Vice-President Samantha Philips if she has any old Air Force buddies that can help shed light on what is really happening at Area 51 and other military bases. The President is sure he is being lied to by the military and not being copied into some Special Access Programmes.  The VP says she will look into it.

The catalyst moment happens during a wild night-time storm at Point Nemo in the middle of the Pacific, when a UFO unexpectantly crashes onto the mast and lands in the waves. Bill does not see it but Natalie suspects it was a silver, saucer shaped craft.

At Eglin Air Force base, the night operatives detect an object appearing at Point Nemo and conclude it’s probably just space junk from the Russians or Chinese, being dumped into the Pacific. They file the report.

Back at Point Nemo, inside the UFO are two humanoid aliens, father Peta and teen son Amar. Despite not being allowed to reveal themselves to humans, they reluctantly ask for a tow to a deserted atoll called Ducie Island, where they hope they can repair their broken ship and return home to save their own planet from a climate crisis.

Natalie asks Amar if they have come to Earth to help humans, but he says no.  Amar says that they must get back to their home planet quickly before they are discovered by an organisation he says are ‘worse than the military’.

In Nevada, The General arrives in his private jet at a secret underground base in Area 51. The organisation he runs is called the Twelve. At a board meeting, we discover that for 70 years Twelve has been stealing and storing Zero Point Energy machines, as well as researching how to reverse-engineer recovered alien craft. The General hears about the potential UFO crash at Point Nemo and orders a plane and submarine to find the alien ship, as they need a new reactor to power their own man-made UFOs.

Back on the boat, Natalie starts to fall for Amar, as he shows her his invisibility watch and explains about his mastery of telepathy. Just then an Air Force jet flies over to inspect the sailing boat, but they quickly manage to lower the UFO far enough under the water, that the pilot cannot see it. The pilot returns to base and updates the General.

Just before they reach the island, Natalie and Bill are shocked to learn that scientists invented Zero Point Energy machines 100 years ago, but this discovery has been kept secret from the public. Natalie is distraught to realise that global warming could have been prevented.

The General is summoned to the White House to meet the President and be questioned about any secret UFO research that he knows about. The General lies and says he knows nothing about it.

Midpoint in the story, the two families arrive at the island to begin repairs to the UFO, which Natalie has named the Nemo. Natalie asks Amar again for this help in getting Zero Point Energy technology made public. He reluctantly agrees to speak with his father and help.

But a group from Twelve's private army suddenly appears in an identical looking man-made UFO and after a shoot-out, Amar is kidnapped and taken to Twelve’s base, while Natalie is left for dead on the island.

Injured but OK, Natalie comes up with a plan to swap the Nemo for Amar and escape using the invisibility watches. The General appears to agree to the plan, but once they arrive at the base, they realise they have been tricked and told they will be killed. It’s a dark night of the soul, as the two families contemplate their fate. Natalie feels guilt and remorse.

But while in the washroom at the base, Natalie fashions an improvised Electromagnetic pulse device after pulling apart the hand-dryer. Using the EMP, she disables the CCTV and the electronic door unlocks in the cell and they make their escape.

In a surprise twist, instead of interrogating the prisoners, Shona reveals herself as a whistle-blower and helps them all to escape. She wants to see disclosure and the end of all the secrecy. Natalie asks Shona if they can take a Zero Point energy device with them on the way out, which they find in a vault of hundreds of machines.

But it turns out the device they take was invented by Bill's father in 1969 - the same scientist we saw at the start of the story. (Bill was the child at the window in the opening scene). Bill had thought his father ran out of the family after being fired. The paperwork with the machine revealed that Bill's father / Natalie's grandfather was not fired, but killed by the Twelve group.

After a tense escape and a further shoot out with the troops, the two families and Shona exit the base in the Nemo.

Unsure of how to get this new technology made public, the families decide to meet with President Barker at Camp David, to show him the working energy machine and inform him about Twelve’s long history of cover-ups.

This convinces the President to take them to the White House in his helicopter, but an angry General Stevens has arrived with his troops to Camp David to kill the President, the two families and Shona.

After an intense fire-fight, the few secret service, remaining Marines, The President, Amar, Peta, Shona and Bill are all cornered and have their weapons taken off them.

Meanwhile Natalie, separated from the group and hiding in the back of the hanger, discovers a box of tear gas grenades. Just as the the General is about to give the command for his troops to execute them all, Natalie throws the grenades towards the General and the troops.  With a smoke-screen, the President and all are led to the waiting Marine One helicopter by Natalie and Shona.

Natalie has the idea of using the invisibility watches to look as if they are all in the helicopter, so as Marine One takes off, it is shot down by the General’s men, with them believing the President and all are killed.  But after running invisibly to the Nemo, they all are quickly back at Ducie Island.

With the world believing President Barker has been killed in the crash, the Vice-President is sworn into office, where we discover she was a secret member of Twelve, colluding with General Stevens to kill President Barker and maintain Twelve’s secret agenda.

Back on the island, the General's submarine torpedoes the sailing catamaran to tie up loose ends, but the Sub commander does not see the group hidden in the trees on the island.

With the aid of Bill’s laptop and Shona's sat phone, the President makes his historic announcement on YouTube, setting in motion his return to Washington and the public release and production of Zero Point Energy devices around the world.  The Vice President keeps her secrets and General Stevens is captured at the S4 base by the FBI, just as he is about to flee in his jet.

Natalie and Amar are in love and he stays on Earth to sail with her family, while Peta returns back to his home planet in the Nemo with the sea-water samples he needs to save their oceans.

One year on, the new energy machines are already reversing global warming and Amar’s home planet has restored all it’s oceans and saved it’s climate.  Disclosure is happening slowly, so the public learn about the 70 years of UFO secrecy.

Back in the same Argentinian harbour that the story began, it’s Natalie’s 17th birthday. Amar gives Natalie a very special present – a gadget that can teleport them and the whole sailing boat to anywhere in the Universe.

We play out to Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly me to the moon’.

"Fly me to the moon,

Let me play among the stars,

Let me see what spring is like on

A-Jupiter and Mars,

In other words, hold my hand,

In other words, baby, kiss me"
